I met Ellen several years ago when she was a personal trainer at a local fitness center. I was interested in boot camp because I did not like classes at gyms. I felt lost in them and didn't get enough personal attention. I have always struggled with my weight and staying healthy, so when I heard Ellen was starting a Boot Camp I knew I had to try it out. Ellen approaches her clients with a genuine care for their well being and success. She motivates me by caring about my health and committing to my fitness goals. The best part is the results! I have lost 15 pounds, a total of 10 inches and 2 dress sizes. I feel wonderful about myself and have a better attitude all around. I am eager to try new things because I feel healthy and strong. My son mentioned Ossipee Adventure Boot Camp and suggested I try it. I was chicken to go alone, so I convinced a new neighbor to try it with me. We are now great friends. Initially waking up that early was challenging. Now I can't wait for the alarm! Everyone is positive and supportive, regardless of your abilities and Ellen’s encouragement helps me when I need that extra push. I am seeing my body change in ways I would never imagine! I am stronger and more capable than I ever was before. My attitude has changed as well. I am more open-minded. I look at life in a different way. It is hard to explain, but it feels great!


I was ready for something to shake up my regular workout routine and get me excited to exercise again. Ossipee Adventure Boot Camp gave me that challenge I needed to work as hard as I could. At the end of a workout, when I didn't think I would be able to make it through, I felt like I accomplished something. I also really liked the camaraderie of the group. Everyone was so encouraging. After a run, the other campers would even run back to the runners at the back of the pack to encourage them to finish strong. During Boot Camp I became more aware of what I was eating, my activity level throughout my day and how much water I drank. I also noticed that my overall attitude toward exercise has changed. It can actually be fun and full of laughs and triumphs. In the beginning I was the one who always finished last or was taking frequent breaks, as the weeks went on I was keeping up with the rest of the group and increasing my endurance.

I had heard about boot camp through several friends. I liked the idea of the early morning hour and being outside. I felt like I needed to add something to my routine running. I thought that getting up at 4:45am would be my biggest challenge, but that hasn't been a problem! My biggest challenge has been doing any exercise related to abs and arms. Now, for the first time, I feel like my arms are becoming stronger. Every day at boot camp is different! I enjoy the variety of exercises. The trainers provide positive feedback and great encouragement. I like the way my clothes fit and I have more energy now. A few days ago I went for a run on a route I have wanted to try for a long time but just haven't felt up to. I had started running my regular 4.2 route and all of sudden decided, why not? I just kept going and did a 7.5 mile loop!

I have been a member of Ossipee Adventure Boot Camp since August, 2011. Ellen, our trainer, is an excellent and inspiring person. I love how she is motivated and driven and never gives up on her students. Ellen has motivated me. I'm a much stronger, healthier person and I am really starting to love my body again. The workouts are not easy, but I've realized that I'm worth all of the hard work and there is very little I am afraid to try now. Boot Camp helps me to achieve my goals through their great support emotionally and physically. In addition to working out, I continue to eat only healthy, fresh and organic foods. I am deeply humbled by the sheer strength of my body. Due to the success I am having with boot camp I will never take nutrition and my need for physical activity for granted again!

I’ve always enjoyed that tired muscle feeling after a good work out or a peaceful jog. After a couple of years dealing with cancer and tons of surgeries I finally felt like myself again. I wanted to get back to having some “me” time and doing what I enjoyed in life. I am an outdoor girl so the gym always got old to me. They only have so many machines and the workouts were repetitive to me. Being stuck inside on those beautiful days to get some toning in annoyed me. Boot Camp was my answer! The instructors are incredible! They are so down to earth. They make everyone feel like they belong and give individual instruction whenever you need it. It’s like having your own personal trainer. The program has EVERYTHING; the cardio, toning, Pilates, yoga, core, running and the workouts are always different. The program is really so much fun. It truly is a team. We all support each other and motivate one another to push harder and harder. It’s great medicine to giggle with the gang at 5:30 a.m. My stamina has greatly improved over a short time. It’s amazing what your body can do given the right atmosphere and tools to succeed.

Two years ago I saw an ad in the local newspaper for a workout I would call “out of the box”. Ossipee Adventure Boot Camp. I find the confinement of the gym stifling. I have had years of gym memberships that have been paid for and not used because I did not enjoy the atmosphere. I walk. I hike. I bike. I swim. What a great idea, work out OUTSIDE! The biggest challenge for me has always been commitment. Every Boot Camp session is different and challenging. I get up in the morning looking forward to attending every workout. I love being outside. There is nothing like working out in the elements of our beautiful New Hampshire weather over looking Lake Winnipesaukee. I work at my own pace. Ellen is there to coach me and push me to my potential. Ellen is the personal trainer you’ve always wanted who designs your workouts, both cardio and core, for the best possible results. The biggest changes I have noticed include: weight loss, decrease in inches, reduced size in shirts and pants, change in my physique, better tone, increase in strength and endurance, improved self confidence!

I have to admit I was a little skeptical about something entitled "Boot Camp". I envisioned a lot of yelling and not the most nurturing environment. However, since day one of camp, I have been nothing but thrilled to wake up and hang out with my newly acquainted friends. After two camps, I have learned so many new exercises that have stirred muscles I didn't know I had! The biggest change for me has occurred in my arms, hips and abs. I feel so much leaner and firm. I'm into a size 4 and my energy level has seen a significant boost. So, whether it's interval training with weights or yoga and Pilates, I look forward to every morning's new adventure.
